
09/27/2005 - Weaver and Tidwell’s Sam Tannebaum Earns Prestigious Hartman Axley Lifetime Service Award for Distinguished Service to the Estate Planning Profession and The National Association of Estate Planners & Councils
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Weaver and Tidwell LLP, announces that Samuel H. Tannebaum, CPA/PFS, AEP, has received the Hartman Axley Lifetime Service Award for Distinguished Service to The Estate Planning Profession and The National Association of Estate Planners and Councils. Tannebaum is the second recipient ever to receive the prestigious award.
The award, given as recognition of distinguished service to the field of estate, was presented to Tannebaum at the 42nd Annual National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC) Conference held at the Gaylord Texan Convention Center September 14-16.
Tannebaum has more than 50 years of public accounting experience. He formed Tannebaum Bindler + Company, P.C., in 1963 where he served as president and chief executive officer until it merged with regional accounting firm Weaver and Tidwell in 1995. He served as senior partner of Weaver and Tidwell from 1995 until 1999 when he was named managing director of Weaver and Tidwell Financial Advisors. He retired from that position in 2003.
Tannebaum is past president of the NAEPC and held that position when the Accredited Estate Planner program was established. He holds Certificate No. 2 for the program. During his career, he has served on the boards of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA) and numerous community organizations, and he has been recognized by the TSCPA, Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and Money Magazine. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.
NAEPC is a national organization of professional estate planners and affiliated Estate Planning Councils focused on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards. NAEPC fosters public awareness of the quality services rendered by professionals who meet these standards. NAEPC builds a team approach involving cross-professional disciplines to better serve the public’s need in estate planning.
