1/29/2007 -Weaver and Tidwell’s Brian Thomas Promoted to Partner
HOUSTON (Jan. 29, 2007) – Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P., announces the promotion of Brian J. Thomas, CISA, CISSP, to IT Advisory Partner. He joined Weaver and Tidwell earlier this month through the firm’s merger with McDonald, Fox and Lund, P.C. With offices in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston, Weaver and Tidwell is ranked by Practical Accountant magazine as the Southwest’s largest regional independent accounting firm.

“We are excited Brian will be leading and overseeing the firm’s IT advisory services.” said Alyssa G. Martin, Weaver and Tidwell’s Dallas executive partner and partner-in-charge of Risk Advisory Service. “These types of services are critical to decision makers today given the current corporate governance environment.”

Weaver and Tidwell’s Risk Advisory Service Group offers internal audit, IT audit, SOX compliance, SAS 70 services, quality assurance reviews, fraud prevention as well as risk advisory consulting services.

Prior to his appointment as partner, Thomas served as principal within the firm. In his new position, he will oversee IT Advisory Services, delivering IT-focused solutions. This includes IT evaluations and testing as part of Sarbanes-Oxley consulting services, IT audits, SAS 70 audits, information security assessments, implementation reviews focusing on enterprise systems and project management services.

Thomas has more than nine years experience in IT management consulting services. He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in civil engineering from University of Texas at Austin, and he has earned Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designations. Thomas also maintains active memberships with Information Systems Audit and Control Association, International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium and Project Management Institute.
